A GSA contract is valid for a potential 20-year term, but must be renewed every five years via the "Option to Extend" clause (FAR 52.217-9). When approaching the end of its 20-year term, all options to extend will be exhausted and the contract can no longer exercise the option clause. You will have the option to submit an offer concurrent to your existing contract terms through a simplified application and acquisition process.
